Freelance & Fun
Having projects to work on past college is very important to me to maintain my creative flow. They have kept my creative mind fueled and given me more experience working on projects that I wouldn't have worked on otherwise.
FABRIK85
Fabrik85 is a small cerakote business run by a coworker. We were talking one day and they mentioned that they were looking to get a logo made. I told them I would make one for them if they were ok with that. It began with setting the goals of what it was going to look like. They stated they wanted something that gave a synth-wave or Maimi Vice feel. I took that and did my best to make it happen. The final version came after a couple of revisions. I eventually landed on the two versions below that they were very happy with.
The Artillery Peice
I had a military reservist approach me asking I could make a design for a shirt for their unit. They worked with 80MM mortar's so that was the base. They also wanted Stich from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch to be incorproated. I took that and drew the mortar in a color palate that would work with the character. It led to a design that was fun to make and made the client smile the moment they saw it.
Musk Mink
I had another coworker commission me to create a design for them. It was to match a personal project that they were working on. The graphic they wanted was meant to parody the Honey Badger but with a pokemon related twist. They specifically requested that it looked scuffed so my goal was to just draw the requested Pokemon from memory only. I worked with them during the whole process giving them regular updates and taking their feedback until we settled on this final version. I then engraved it for them and after all was said and done, they were very pleased with the result.
Old Glory
This was a personal project of mine where I wanted to take a modernt weapon and make it look like it was frm one of my favorite games, Destiny 2. I was drawing inspiration from the Vex Offenseive activity relesed during the Shadowkeep expansion. I took a picture of a friends rifle and took textures from weapons from the activity. I then in photoshop I edited the image with the base assets. Finally I recreated the UI that was in use at the time. I did my best to ensure that everything matched to make it feel more like something that could have been in the game. Looking back there are many things I could have improved, but in the end I was still happy with the results.
